Hi Dolls,
Summer is here and so are the sun rays! First thing is first on your summer to do list and that is to protect your skin! Sunscreen is the single most important preventative skincare product you can own. It protects you from the suns UVA and UVB damaging rays that cause wrinkles, sunburn, premature aging and age spots.
Most sunscreens have potent combinations of chemicals that are known hormone and endocrine disruptor’s. When shopping for your sunscreen there are some ingredients to look out for and avoid. Ingredients to avoid are Octinoxate (Octylmethoxycinnamate), Homosalate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, and Avobenzone. Other toxic ingredients to avoid are parabens, pthalates, and sodium laureth sulfate.
Four key factors to look for in sunscreen are:
- Water resistance.
- SPF- sun protection factor.
- Broad spectrum.
- Ingredients.
To ensure you use a sunscreen daily you want to make sure it is easy to apply and doesn’t irritate your skin or eyes. Always keep your sunscreen visible so you remember to put on daily. I keep mine with my morning skincare routine items and in my makeup bag so I can re-apply when needed.
Another great source for clean sunscreens/beauty products is the EWG .
I have rounded up some of the top clean sunscreens for you and your family to stay protected . Swipe right or left and click each photo to take you directly to each product to shop.
Such an amazing read! I didn’t know those ingredients caused hormone disruption! Ugh terrible girl!!
