CBD Oil: Does it really work?

CBD Oil has become all the rage in the wellness industry, and for good reason. It promises relief from a myriad of health issues and has the studies to back up these claims. However, the million dollar question everyone asks; does it really work?

CBD Oil is said to alleviate, and/or eliminate, a host of common health problems that effect a large portion of the population. These benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Pain Reduction
  • Reduction in Anxiety and Depression
  • Alleviate Cancer Related Symptoms/Side Effects
  • Reduce Inflammation
  • Insomnia
  • Reduce Blood Pressure

Jo and I are very active both in our professional and personal lives. We travel hard and play hard. That type of lifestyle can take it’s toll on the body via increased cortisol levels (inflammation), sore joints, restless sleep and mental stress. We both have researched CBD Oil for months before deciding that we should “give it a try”.  As luck would have it Motherhood Unstressed contacted PLG for the opportunity to test and review their CBD Oil product. Strange how the Universe works, right?

Jo informed Liz (Owner/Creator of Motherhood Unstressed) that we both would like to “test” the product and give it a review after using it for 5 weeks minimum. After all, you really cannot judge a product FAIRLY if you haven’t used it for a somewhat extended period of time. That is the standard PLG has set forth for any supplement review and one that I believe to be the best practice.

CBD Oil is very unique in that it worked immediately for us both. The first night we took it, we slept like rocks. Literally the position we fell asleep in is how we awoke the next morning. Did we wake up groggy or feeling “drugged”? No. We felt very well rested (duh!)

Jo: I didn’t wake up once last night.

Chris: Me neither. Damn!

These “rock sleeps” continued for the duration of our use. Does it work for sleep? YES IT DOES!

Since we work and play hard, inflammation has always been an issue with both of us. Working and playing hard takes a toll on the body so we were really looking forward to see how CBD Oil held up to our needs. This one was a little different as far as immediate relief. We both noticed it took about 10 days to start to notice it’s anti-inflammatory effects. 10 days is a small price to pay for the solid relief of an achy body. Taking ibuprofen for inflammation, while efficacious, isn’t the healthiest choice so Motherhood Unstressed CBD Oil is a godsend for us. Does it help with inflammation? YES IT DOES.

Stress is a part of everyone’s life. We all have it and we all go through it. Key is learning to manage it. Motherhood Unstressed CBD Oil is fortified with Ashwaganda. For those of you unfamiliar with the health benefits of this medicinal herb, let me just say that it is one of the best herbs you can take for stress. Ashwaganda is an adaptogen so it can help stamp out a variety of of ailments brought on by stress. I won’t venture too far into it’s benefits but do take the time to research it more if your interested. After 7 days of taking the CBD Oil we both can say that the calming effect is real. CBD Oil does not contain THC, so for those of you saying we were probably high..nice try lol. Jo said:

I felt more focused and less anxious when deadlines were approaching. I just went with the flow. Normally I’d have to sit back and remind myself to just breathe.

I have to agree with this statement. Motherhood Unstressed CBD Oil really delivers when it comes to a sense of overall well being and stress management. CBD Oil on it’s own helps alleviate stress, with Liz’s formula we got an extra boost with the Ashwaganda. BAM!! Does it help with stress? YES IT DOES.

These were our experiences with CBD Oil. Luckily we are in good health, so we cannot speak to the other issues CBD is known to help with; but all the research and testimonials are a good indication that CBD Oil is legit.

Final thoughts; Motherhood Unstressed CBD Oil is a very high quality CBD product that we both can HIGHLY recommend. Liz has formulated a top notch product that simply works.

Do yourself a favor and give it a 2 month run. You’re body and mind will thank you for it.

You’re welcome Natalie. It’s excellent for inflammation. This is one of the main reasons for me to continue using it.

I would love to see and read your studies. Were these random controlled trials? Also, might be important to note any down falls to use such as drug testing results and depending on manufacturer, and state purchased that there may be THC added in legalized states.

Hi Kim! I’d be happy to send you some studies, and there’s more exciting ones coming out every day! These capsules are made with CO2 extracted CBD isolate so there is zero THC. Now if a company tests for all cannabinoids then it would show up, but if they just tested for THC you would be fine.

        Hi Liz.
I would love to bread your studies. Particularly any random controlled trials. I know CBD can be very useful and I recommend it myself as a practitioner. My email is Kimzaydel@yahoo.com.

My only point is that Cbd often can and will cause a false positive on a drug screen. Unfortunately there is no test to prove it is Cbd, it shows as THC. Therefore, on paper it is a problem.

I will look forward to your info. Thank you.

Hi Kim. Thanks for posting all that useful info on drug testing and the possible +’s that can show up. I believe you hit on something very important in that the current drug tests cannot determine the source of cannabinoids (THC or CBD). I personally would advise that people refrain from using CBD Oil before going in for a drug test for this very reason. In regards to my “research”. That was only intended as us reading all the different online periodicals, forums, blogs etc dedicated to CBD. Thanks again for your insight.

Great advice.!! CBD has a lot of benefits. As a practitioner, I recommend it myself to my patients. I enjoyed your article. I just run into problems with it once I get a positive THC on paper. You can call it a false positive, but I am told by my lab there is no test to prove it.

I’ve heard so much about CBD Oil and would love for me and my husband to try it! I have a question. My husbands company randomly test their employee’s. Is CBD Oil safe for him to use or will it show up on a test?

Hi Christine! This is a very good question. The verdict is still out on this one. CBD Oil (from any manufacturer) MAY contain a miniscule amount of THC. Again, nothing that will get one “high”. There may be trace amounts of it found in this formula, and if so I don’t know how much. I would err on the side of caution and recommend he not use it. Perhaps Liz will chime in and shed some light on this great question.

      Hi Christine,

Motherhood Unstressed capsules are made with CO2 extracted CBD isolate which means it contains zero THC. They are third party lab tested to ensure that they are completely in compliance with that standard.

Hi Chris. FYI, I drug test people everyday my medical and I can tell you that yes, CBD can cause + THC on a drug test; I see it all the time. Often, it is because they are using more than recommended or due to manufacturers. Also, there is no test to determine whether it is CBD vs THC. I have a lot of interest in this topic. So, I would live to read any research you may have.

    • November 28, 2018 / 8:58 pm

My CBD is third party lab tested, ensuring there is zero THC so though that may occur with other CBDs out there, it absolutely will not in mine.

Random drug testing can cause someone their livelihood. Many brands say there is no THC, and there may not be, however it will still often show as THC on a urine drug screen. This doesnt mean there is THC in it. The problem is there is no test to differentiate or prove whether it is CBD or THC. Just want to share what I see every day as a medical professional.

That’s why it’s essential for the employee to make sure to ask if they test for THC or all cannabinoids.

I want to add that it doesnt happen in every single instance that i test, but it happens often.

Standard drug tests include THC. Employees cannot ask or order their own drug tests. Regardless, CBD can still break down into THC. It is the same molecular structure. Due to individual variations in metabolism, it can still break down into THC. So regardless of what you test for, you may get + THC. I have spoken with labs, pharmacies etc and I am told there is no test to determine if THC is from THC or CBD. If you have a source that is telling you differently, I would love to hear from them. I drug test patients everyday, and I would love to know there is a test that can prove it is CBD. I prescribe controlled substances and I cannot legally prescribe them to someone who is positive for illicits. So if you have the answer for me,please send me the info and I will thank you for it greatly.

The only way a test would show positive for THC is if the person was taking a product that had some THC in it, or if the company was testing for all cannabinoids. To give you some background, there are 85+ cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. THC and CBD are only 2 of them. So, if a company tests for cannabinoids, then yes CBD would create a positive reading. If they test just for THC, it would be negative. It’s important then for the employee to find out, (not request) what they specifically test for. It’s possible the company doesn’t truly know, and that’s where the confusion arises. Hope this helps anyone wondering about this issue.
