I have a question for you, do you wear Blue Light Glasses?
Now more than ever we are looking at computer screens and phone screens . Blue light is everywhere. It’s emitted from the fluorescent lighting and the screens from our electronic devices.
So to combat the effects of too much blue light exposure, I started wearing blue light protection.
Here are 3 reasons to head out and get you some blue light glasses
▪️ they help reduce eye strain. Looking at a screen all day you may experience eye and muscle strain. Another way to reduce eye strain is to make sure you take regular breaks from the screen time.
▪️using a device before bedtime can delay the release of melatonin making it harder to fall asleep right away. Blue light glasses help you sleep better. I have noticed a significant difference by using them at night. But the best option is to always put the phone or computer away a couple hours before bedtime.
▪️helps to reduce risk of eye diseases
Your cornea and eye lens are great at blocking out harmful UV light from reaching the retina. However, they cannot block blue light. Damage to the retina can increase your risk of developing macular degeneration.
Our devices are not going away. It is so important to keep our eyes healthy and one way to do that is to reduce the amount of time sitting in front of screens. Make sure you step away as often as possible and talk to your eye care doctor about blue light glasses.
